Okay, that’s not us. Not even us when we had much less mileage. But mine the gap! was founded by HR consultant Lindsay Soulsby and copywriter, Stuart Shaw.
And we are brother and sister. And we work great together writing websites that connect with your customers; and upscaling your HR practices.
But we also work solo and are available for hire.
Here’s the low down on each of us.
Lindsay Soulsby, HR Consultant
I spent 11 years in Financial Services (Abbey, Barclays, Rothschild) rising from management trainee in Retail Banking into high profile roles across Sales, Marketing, HR and Project Management, before setting up HR consultancy firms which included working for clients such as Capita and The Charities Commission.
My most recent mine the gap! consulting gig was leading a number of Global Change initiatives to drive efficiencies through system automation, people and process standardisation for 33,000 Change and Tech Colleagues who support a Group Portfolio spend of £3.2bn per annum.
I have undertaken numerous strategic, transformational and operational roles on a consultancy and interim basis across a wide range of industries: Financial Services, Publishing, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, Aviation, Retail and Public Sector.
I’m a specialist in many disciplines – HR (including human capital management), Sales and Marketing, Change Transformation and Technology – and have acquired strong leadership, management, and teamwork skills.
I love transforming HR functions into modern Human Capital Management focused drivers of strategic chang
PS: in my spare, spare time I’m happily married and have six dogs. Yes, six. Four endangered Danie Dinmont terriers: Megan, George, Oscar and Baxter. Plus a Lhasa Apso called Maxwell and a Lhasa/Shitsu cross called Holly.

Stuart Shaw, Freelance Copywriter
After graduating with a first class philosophy degree from the UEA, I got my first writing gig at a design agency called European Internet Technologies. Naturally, they didn’t have a clue what to do with a philosopher with zero coding skills, so they got me to write their website. Then their brochures. Press releases. Blogs. Email templates. PPT presentations.
Then their client’s websites. Brochures. Press releases. Blogs… You get the picture.
I even sidetracked into e-learning. Applying my boadeconstructor skills to turn hard-to-swallow concepts like Kaizen and Knowledge Management into easily digestible courses.
Then I hitched a ride on a concrete cow over to Milton Keynes and to work with my sister in the field of lifestyle management. You know, saving time and money for people with more time and more money than they know what to do with.
I loved it. Writing the website. Brochures. Articles for luxury lifestyle magazines. But I was hands on too. Fame claim: I once booked a restaurant for Jonny Depp and partied on a yacht in Monaco with Jodie Kidd and Sisko. You don’t remember the thong song? Epic.
From those heady name-dropping heights, my sister and I got into Human Capital, helping brands create workplaces where people did the best work of their lives.
Now I’m freelance here at mine the gap! Copywriting conversion focused websites. Power Pages. Brand stories and whitepapers for start ups, design agencies and businesses.
PS: In my spare, spare time I write screenplays. Think Malick meets Tarantino and you’re on the right track.
