Every cotton picker, farmer, labourer, and migrant worker who takes our free survey helps us donate 20p to charity. But not our charity: charities that they pick.
With our Supply Chain Mining service, we reduce brand rep risk for the buyer; demonstrate how improving standards adds financial value for the supplier; and by systematically bringing workers into the heart of the process, raise conditions for the worker. A win, win, win for all sides.
By combining web-based survey technology with IVR phone survey technology, for the first time we can also reach the extended supply chain, from tier 1 production line workers right down to the poorest homeworkers. So long as they have access to a mobile phone or a laptop, they can take our surveys anonymously and for free. In their language too.
Because what we do matters and why we are doing it matters to us (and our partners) we have pushed our costs down to the max as well as ensuring that there is just enough for every worker completing our survey to help donate 20p to charity. But not our charity. MtG is all about giving people a voice and using that voice to improve their lives. Which means that we enable buyers and suppliers and workers to nominate the local charities themselves.
Which might not sound like much if your factory or farm employs 20 people, but if your factory or farm is one of a network of 1,000 suppliers in a brand’s supply chain, it adds up. (You can do the math yourself with Foxconn’s 1.2 million workers).
